Conjunction Of 2 Planets — All 36 Pairs And Their Results

In Vedic astrology, a conjunction (Yuti) happens when two planets occupy the same zodiac sign — and especially when they sit within a few degrees of each other. The two energies merge: their houses, lordships, friendships and enmities all interact in one place. With 9 grahas (Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, Rahu and Ketu), there are exactly 36 unique two-planet pairs. This guide explains every one of them in plain language, gives the classical yoga name where applicable, and shows a visual for each conjunction.

How to read a conjunction

  • Two benefics (Jupiter, Venus, well-placed Mercury, waxing Moon) sitting together usually multiply the good karakas of those planets.
  • Two malefics (Sun, Mars, Saturn, Rahu, Ketu) together intensify struggle but often build a self-made profile through grit.
  • A benefic with a malefic softens the malefic and adds discipline to the benefic — the most common life pattern.
  • Always check the house the conjunction sits in, the sign (each planet's strength), and the degrees — planets too close to the Sun (within 8°-12°) become combust and lose strength.
  • A conjunction matters most during the Dasha or Antardasha of either planet.

Sun + Moon Conjunction

Amavasya / Surya-Chandra Yuti

SuMo1

Su + Mo together

Sun and Moon together is a new-moon yuti — the conscious will and the emotional mind sit on the same seat. The native is goal-driven and self-reliant, but the inner mind feels overshadowed by the ego, leading to mood dips and a constant tension between what the head wants and what the heart needs. Relationship with the mother and early home life often carry strain. When this yuti is supported by Jupiter or Venus, the person learns to channel the restless mind into disciplined, focused work and rises through self-effort. The Moon is considered weak (combust) when too close to the Sun in degrees; check the gap before drawing strong conclusions.

Sun + Mars Conjunction

Surya-Mangal / Agni Yuti

SuMa1

Su + Ma together

Two fiery, masculine planets meet — this is raw power, courage and assertion. The native is bold, competitive, quick to act and natural at leadership in armed forces, sports, surgery, engineering and any field that needs a fearless front-foot attitude. The shadow side is anger, impatience and friction with father, bosses and elder brothers. Blood pressure, accidents and injuries to head/face are common physical themes. Placed in a strong house (1, 10, 11) it gives Ruchaka-like fame; placed in 4, 6 or 8 it can burn home life and health unless cooled by Jupiter or a benefic aspect.

Sun + Mercury Conjunction

Budha-Aditya Yoga

SuMe1

Su + Me together

A classic and generally favourable yoga of intellect. Sun lights up Mercury's analytical mind, producing sharp speech, clear thinking, administrative ability and success in writing, teaching, accounts, law and government work. The native often shines academically and earns respect for ideas. The catch is that Mercury sitting too close to the Sun (within ~12°) becomes combust — the intellect then feels overheated, the person can be opinionated and prone to mental burnout. When Mercury is at a comfortable distance, this yoga is one of the best givers of name through knowledge.

Sun + Jupiter Conjunction

Guru-Aditya / Dharma-Karmadhipati flavour

SuJu1

Su + Ju together

Soul (Sun) meets wisdom (Jupiter) — a deeply auspicious conjunction for character, ethics and visibility. The native is principled, devoted to family and tradition, and often draws respect from teachers, elders and authority. Career growth comes through advisory roles, education, law, finance, religion or public service. Father is usually a strong presence and a moral guide. The downside is a tendency to be self-righteous or preachy, and Jupiter near the Sun gets combust — when very close in degrees, the optimism dulls and luck takes time to ripen. Overall, one of the kindest pairings.

Sun + Venus Conjunction

Surya-Shukra Yuti

SuVe1

Su + Ve together

Ego and pleasure share a seat. The native is charming, artistic and well-presented, often drawn to fashion, cinema, design, music or politics where image matters. There is a strong love of luxury and recognition. Married life, however, can be turbulent — Sun burns Venus' soft, romantic side, leading to ego clashes with spouse, late marriage, or attraction to partners who are themselves dominant. Venus combust (within ~10°) weakens marital comfort and vehicle/asset luck for some years. With wide degrees and good support, this yuti gives fame in creative fields and a magnetic public personality.

Sun + Saturn Conjunction

Pitru Dosha (classical)

SuSa1

Su + Sa together

Father (Sun) and Saturn (judge, restriction, karma) fight by nature — they are bitter enemies. Their conjunction is one of the most challenging pairings: estrangement from father, delays in early career, problems with authority, and a heavy sense of duty without matching reward in young years. Bones, knees and eyesight need care. After 30-35, when Saturn matures, the same yuti often produces remarkable resilience, a self-made profile, and slow but solid success — engineers, judges, civil servants, social reformers. The early hardship is real; the late rise is also real. Remedies focused on Sun (Surya Namaskar, Sunday discipline) and Saturn (Shani service to elders/labourers) help significantly.

Sun + Rahu Conjunction

Grahan Dosha / Surya Grahan Yoga

SuRa1

Su + Ra together

A solar-eclipse combination — Rahu swallows the Sun. Identity, confidence and father-figure issues dominate. The native is ambitious, hungry for recognition, often unconventional, and may rise unusually fast through bold or controversial moves; equally, sudden falls and reputation hits are common. Health themes: chronic stress, headaches, eyesight, autoimmune. Government dealings can be inconsistent. With Jupiter or a strong 9th house, this same yoga turns into political/digital/foreign success because Rahu amplifies whatever Sun is doing. Without that support, ego inflation and self-undoing are real risks.

Sun + Ketu Conjunction

Surya-Ketu / Pitru-related

SuKe1

Su + Ke together

Ketu cuts what the Sun rules — confidence, identity and the bond with father. The native often feels invisible in early life, doubts their own importance and pulls away from limelight even when capable. There is a deep spiritual streak; many become researchers, occultists, healers or quiet specialists who excel without needing applause. Father may be absent, ill or detached. After Ketu matures (late 40s), the person often becomes a respected authority precisely because of detachment from ego. Spinal and bone issues should be watched. A simple remedy is honouring ancestors and avoiding ego-driven self-promotion.

Moon + Mars Conjunction

Chandra-Mangal / Lakshmi Yoga

MoMa1

Mo + Ma together

A celebrated wealth combination. Mind (Moon) joins action (Mars), producing a person who not only thinks of money but moves quickly to make it — excellent for business, real estate, trading, food, hospitality and anything requiring nerve and timing. The native is emotionally intense, protective of family, and unafraid of risk. The flip side is hot temper, impulsive decisions, and friction with mother or female elders. In women's charts, menstrual and blood-related issues are common. With even a mild Jupiter aspect this yoga is one of the strongest indicators of self-earned wealth.

Moon + Mercury Conjunction

Chandra-Budha Yuti

MoMe1

Mo + Me together

A soft, intelligent and adaptable combination. The mind is quick, expressive and emotionally attuned — wonderful for writers, counsellors, teachers, marketers, content creators and translators. The person reads moods well, speaks pleasantly, and learns languages easily. Weakness: the mind can be over-thinking, anxious and easily swayed by other people's opinions; conviction takes longer than analysis. Relationship with mother and maternal uncles tends to be supportive. Strongest when placed in 1, 4, 5, 9 or 10.

Moon + Jupiter Conjunction

Gajakesari Yoga

MoJu1

Mo + Ju together

When Moon and Jupiter sit together — or in mutual kendras — it is the famous Gaja-Kesari yoga, called the "elephant-lion" combination. The native is wise, generous, well-spoken, respected in society, and usually enjoys good fortune through education, advisory roles or family wealth. Mind is calm, optimistic and morally guided. Mother, teachers and gurus play a big role in life. Even a moderately placed Gaja-Kesari softens many other doshas in the chart. Excess: weight gain, over-eating, complacency. One of the most blessed conjunctions overall.

Moon + Venus Conjunction

Chandra-Shukra Yuti

MoVe1

Mo + Ve together

Two soft, watery, feminine planets — pure aesthetics, romance and emotional refinement. The native is beautiful or beautifully presented, artistic, fond of music, perfumes, good food and comfortable surroundings. Excellent for careers in arts, design, hospitality, beauty, films, luxury goods and counselling. Marriage life is generally affectionate, especially for men. Excess shows as moodiness, indulgence, attachment to comfort and difficulty with hard discipline. In a watery sign, emotional dependency on partner can be high. Mother and spouse usually share a warm bond.

Moon + Saturn Conjunction

Vish Yoga / Punarphoo

MoSa1

Mo + Sa together

Mind (Moon) under the cold weight of Saturn — known as Vish ("poison") yoga in many texts. The native often carries an undercurrent of sadness, loneliness, low self-worth or chronic worry, even when life looks fine outside. Mother's health or her presence may be limited in childhood. Sleep issues, depression, joint pain are common physical themes. The strength of this yuti is depth — these natives become serious thinkers, social workers, psychologists, writers and patient long-term builders. With Jupiter's aspect or in own sign, the heaviness lifts and matures into quiet wisdom by late 30s.

Moon + Rahu Conjunction

Chandra Grahan Yoga

MoRa1

Mo + Ra together

A lunar-eclipse combination. The mind is restless, imaginative, fearful at night, prone to overthinking, dreams and paranoia. There is great creative and intuitive power — outstanding for cinema, photography, occult, foreign work and unconventional careers — but anxiety, addictions and emotional unpredictability are real risks. Bond with mother often complicated. Phases of self-doubt alternate with phases of bold action. Meditation, fixed routine, reduced screen-time at night and Rahu-related charity (working for marginalised people) are classical remedies. With Jupiter's gaze, Chandra Grahan turns into a powerful "out-of-the-box" creative yoga.

Moon + Ketu Conjunction

Chandra-Ketu / detachment yoga

MoKe1

Mo + Ke together

A deeply introspective combination. The mind is sensitive, spiritual, intuitive, often drawn to past-life themes, mysticism, healing and solitude. The native may feel emotionally distant from mother or family even when physically close, and friendships shift in waves. Mood swings and a sense of "why am I here?" are common in younger years. Career suits research, psychology, alternative healing, astrology and writing. Once the person accepts their inward nature instead of fighting it, this yuti gives unusual peace and inner clarity that material conjunctions rarely produce.

Mars + Mercury Conjunction

Mangal-Budha Yuti

MaMe1

Ma + Me together

Sharp, fast and persuasive. Mars adds drive and decisiveness to Mercury's intellect, producing excellent debaters, lawyers, surgeons, engineers, software developers, entrepreneurs and stock traders. Speech is direct, sometimes cutting; the native wins arguments easily. The shadow side is sarcasm, impatience with slow people, and a tendency to argue with siblings, neighbours and colleagues. In well-placed houses (3, 6, 10, 11) this is a powerful self-earning combination; in 4 or 7, it can hurt family peace and partnerships.

Mars + Jupiter Conjunction

Guru-Mangal Yoga

MaJu1

Ma + Ju together

Action meets wisdom — one of the most virtuous conjunctions for a balanced career. The native is courageous yet ethical, ambitious yet generous, suited for law, defence, education, medicine, real estate and dharmic leadership. Dharma and karma align: the person fights for the right cause. Energy is high and confidence steady. Excess can show as preachiness, over-confidence in own judgement, or pushing personal beliefs onto others. Generally one of the best combinations a chart can carry, especially in 1, 9, 10 or 11.

Mars + Venus Conjunction

Mangal-Shukra Yuti

MaVe1

Ma + Ve together

Passion personified. Two powerfully sexual planets meeting produces strong physical attraction, magnetic personality, artistic intensity and a complicated love life. Excellent for performing arts, sports, dance, fashion, photography, films and military careers. Marriage and relationships tend to be passionate but stormy — multiple relationships, secret affairs, or marriage-after-love-loss are common themes, especially when 7th house is involved. Energy must be channelled into creative or athletic outlets; otherwise, it leaks as conflict in romance. Jupiter's aspect gives stability and refines the passion into devoted love.

Mars + Saturn Conjunction

Mangal-Shani / Karma Yoga

MaSa1

Ma + Sa together

Two natural enemies — fire and ice. The native carries an inner pressure cooker: high ambition (Mars) blocked by repeated obstacles (Saturn). Childhood often involves discipline, struggle, harsh mentors or accidents. Hands-on technical skill is unusually strong — engineers, mechanics, surgeons, builders, defence personnel, civil services. Anger is deep and slow-burning; when it erupts, it is destructive. Bones, joints, blood and muscle injuries are health concerns. Reward comes after 30 through grit and patience, not luck — almost every successful self-made person has some Mars-Saturn theme. Service to the underprivileged is a powerful remedy.

Mars + Rahu Conjunction

Angarak Yoga

MaRa1

Ma + Ra together

A volatile, high-voltage combination. Mars' aggression amplified by Rahu's obsession produces fearless, rebellious, sometimes reckless natives. They can rise rocket-fast in business, tech, real estate, surgery, defence, sports or the underworld — and crash equally fast. Anger is explosive, often justified in their own mind. Accidents involving fire, vehicles, weapons and electricity are classical warnings. In a controlled chart (Jupiter aspect, strong 9th) this same yoga makes revolutionaries, change-makers and unstoppable founders. Without that control, it harms the native and people around them. Discipline and Hanuman Chalisa are widely-recommended remedies.

Mars + Ketu Conjunction

Mangal-Ketu Yuti

MaKe1

Ma + Ke together

Ketu sharpens Mars to a laser. The native is focused, technical, often spiritually inclined and capable of extreme effort in narrow specialties — surgery, martial arts, occult, weapons, deep tech, research. There is a sudden, cutting quality to actions: the person decides quickly and rarely looks back. Risks include sudden injuries (especially burns/cuts), surgical events, and conflicts that erupt out of nowhere with siblings or co-workers. Brothers may face health issues. When mature, this yuti gives great courage detached from ego — a warrior-monk profile.

Mercury + Jupiter Conjunction

Budha-Guru / Saraswati Yoga element

MeJu1

Me + Ju together

Intellect (Mercury) blessed by wisdom (Jupiter). One of the most respected conjunctions for learning, teaching, writing, law, finance, counselling and spiritual scholarship. The native is well-read, balanced in speech, gives sound advice and is naturally trusted with money or knowledge. Children and students benefit from this person. Excess shows as endless theorising, over-cautious decision-making, and difficulty taking bold action. Generally a kind, gentle and prosperous yuti; very strong in the 2nd, 5th, 9th or 10th.

Mercury + Venus Conjunction

Budha-Shukra Yuti

MeVe1

Me + Ve together

Charm, communication and aesthetics combine. The native is articulate, witty, attractive, well-mannered and gifted in any field that mixes intellect with beauty — design, marketing, content creation, fashion, jewellery, architecture, music, hospitality. Speech is sweet and persuasive; sales come naturally. Romantic life is active, sometimes scattered, with strong attractions in school/college years. Negative side: vanity, overspending on appearance, indecision in love. Generally a happy, creative and money-friendly conjunction.

Mercury + Saturn Conjunction

Budha-Shani Yuti

MeSa1

Me + Sa together

A serious, methodical mind. Saturn slows Mercury but adds discipline and depth — outstanding for chartered accountants, lawyers, researchers, mathematicians, civil servants, language scholars and editors. The native speaks little, weighs words carefully, and often achieves recognition late but lasting. Childhood may bring speech delays, stammering, or social awkwardness; school years feel lonely. As Saturn matures the same person becomes a quiet authority. Negative tendency: pessimism, dry humour, difficulty expressing affection. In good houses, this is one of the best yutis for long-career success.

Mercury + Rahu Conjunction

Budha-Rahu / Shrapit-related

MeRa1

Me + Ra together

A mind on overdrive. Rahu amplifies Mercury, producing extremely clever, fast-talking, adaptable natives — perfect for IT, social media, stock markets, internet business, foreign trade, hacking, marketing, digital influence. They can read systems and shortcuts that others miss. The shadow side is half-truths, deception, scams (giving or receiving), nervous disorders, skin issues and sleep problems. Speech can mislead and over-promise. Used ethically, this yoga is a money-magnet of the modern age; used carelessly it brings legal and reputation trouble. Pranayama and truthfulness are strong remedies.

Mercury + Ketu Conjunction

Budha-Ketu Yuti

MeKe1

Me + Ke together

A deep, narrow, almost mystic intelligence. The native is observant, analytical, often quiet, drawn to mathematics, programming, mantra, occult, research, statistics or healing. Speech can be sparse but precise. There may be early issues with communication, reading, or skin/nerve sensitivity. Friendships are few but loyal. Career suits anything that rewards depth over breadth — a Ketu-Mercury person can dissolve into a subject for years and emerge as an expert. Stress shows up in nervous system; meditation works very well as a tonic.

Jupiter + Venus Conjunction

Guru-Shukra Yuti

JuVe1

Ju + Ve together

Two great benefics together — wisdom and grace, dharma and beauty. Generally lucky for wealth, marriage and reputation: the native is generous, well-liked, attractive, devoted to family and often blessed with a comfortable spouse, children and material life. However, classical texts note these two are guru-shishya (teacher-student) of opposing schools (Devaguru and Daityaguru), so a subtle inner conflict between values and desires exists — discipline vs indulgence, tradition vs modern pleasure. With both planets dignified, this yuti gives a genuinely happy life. In water signs it can lean toward overindulgence and weight gain.

Jupiter + Saturn Conjunction

Guru-Shani Yuti

JuSa1

Ju + Sa together

Wisdom (expansion) meets duty (contraction) — a slow but very stable combination. Early life often feels heavy, with limited freedom and serious responsibilities, but the long-term fruits are excellent: lasting career, respected position, judicial mindset, wealth that grows steadily rather than suddenly. Suits law, education, civil services, real estate, religious institutions, large organisations. The native is grounded, cautious and ethical. Negative tendencies: rigidity, conservatism, slow decision-making, late marriage or late children. Once Saturn matures (around 36) this yuti pays back generously.

Jupiter + Rahu Conjunction

Guru-Chandala Yoga

JuRa1

Ju + Ra together

A famously controversial conjunction. Jupiter (the priest) sits with Rahu (the outcaste) — the native often questions established beliefs, mixes traditions, walks an unconventional dharma. Hugely beneficial for foreign work, immigration, multinational careers, gurus with modern teachings, stock markets and digital businesses. Hugely problematic for character if guidance is poor: cult leaders, fake gurus, fraud, addictions and broken trust come from the same yoga. Father, gurus and luck behave in unpredictable ways. With ethical anchoring (regular practice, honest mentor) this is one of the most successful "self-made foreigner" combinations of modern times.

Jupiter + Ketu Conjunction

Guru-Ketu Yuti

JuKe1

Ju + Ke together

A naturally spiritual conjunction. The native is wise, detached, often philosophical from a young age, drawn to scriptures, meditation, healing or charitable work. Material ambition is mild; satisfaction comes from teaching, service or inner life rather than accumulation. Career still works — especially in education, advisory, medicine, NGOs — but the person rarely chases money. Risks: under-utilisation of talent, isolation, withdrawal during important worldly moments, weak digestion. In the 9th, 5th or 12th, this yuti gives a saint-like quality. Excellent for liberation; modest for empire-building.

Venus + Saturn Conjunction

Shukra-Shani Yuti

VeSa1

Ve + Sa together

Practical love, mature beauty. Saturn delays and disciplines Venus — marriage often happens late, or to a partner significantly older, more serious or from a different background. Once settled, the union is stable and long-lasting. The native has refined, minimal taste rather than flashy luxury, and earns money slowly through steady artistic, design, real-estate or service-based work. Sexual life can feel mechanical or restrained. Health: kidneys, urinary, reproductive system, knees. With both planets dignified, this is one of the most reliable producers of long-term wealth and a stable home.

Venus + Rahu Conjunction

Shukra-Rahu Yuti

VeRa1

Ve + Ra together

Glamour, intensity and forbidden attractions. The native is unusually attractive in an exotic, magnetic way and draws attention easily — strong for media, fashion, cinema, nightlife, foreign relationships and luxury businesses. Inter-caste, inter-religion, inter-country or live-in relationships are very common. Excess shows as multiple partners, addictions, scandal, financial extravagance and difficulty with monogamy. Diabetes, sexually-transmitted issues and skin problems are classical health pointers. Used consciously, Shukra-Rahu produces glamorous self-made success; used carelessly, it produces dramatic personal life.

Venus + Ketu Conjunction

Shukra-Ketu Yuti

VeKe1

Ve + Ke together

Soft, dreamy and karmically charged. The native is attractive in a quiet, almost ethereal way, with a deep romantic imagination and strong artistic gifts in poetry, music, painting, photography or healing arts. Love life often carries a "soul-mate" or unfinished karmic flavour — intense early relationships that end abruptly, partners who appear and disappear, a late or unconventional marriage. Indifference to material pursuit is common; the person prefers depth over display. Reproductive health and emotional clarity in love need attention. With Jupiter's gaze, this becomes a beautiful devotional/spiritual creative yoga.

Saturn + Rahu Conjunction

Shrapit Yoga (Curse Yoga)

SaRa1

Sa + Ra together

A heavy, karmic combination — many classical texts call it Shrapit ("cursed") yoga, especially in the 1st, 8th or 12th. Early life often brings repeated obstacles, ancestral debts, mental pressure, isolation, nightmares and a feeling that "things just don't work" no matter the effort. Career is unstable for years; foreign land or marginalised, behind-the-scenes work often suits better than mainstream success. The strength of this yuti is endurance — these natives survive what others would not. After 36-42, when Saturn matures, the same person frequently rises to remarkable, hard-earned success. Pitra-paksha rituals, Shani service and steady honest work are widely-prescribed remedies.

Saturn + Ketu Conjunction

Shani-Ketu Yuti

SaKe1

Sa + Ke together

Detachment doubled. Saturn's discipline meets Ketu's renunciation, producing a serious, often spiritual, often lonely native. Early ambition feels muted; the person works hard but rarely for fame. Outstanding for monks, researchers, occultists, surgeons, deep specialists and those serving the elderly, sick or marginalised. Material rewards come late and modestly. Health themes: chronic ailments, joint issues, low immunity in childhood, dental and bone matters. The hidden gift is freedom from craving — once the native stops fighting their natural detachment, life becomes unusually peaceful and respected in old age.

Rahu + Ketu Conjunction

Rahu-Ketu Axis (note)

RaKe1

Ra + Ke together

Strictly speaking, Rahu and Ketu are never conjunct — they are the two ends of the lunar nodal axis and always sit exactly 180° apart, in opposite houses. Some texts and software still flag a "Rahu-Ketu yuti" loosely for the axis itself. The whole life of the native is then defined by the house and sign axis these two occupy: Rahu shows the desire/direction this birth is pulling toward, Ketu shows the comfort zone carried in from past lives. Major karmic events, eclipses in transit, and Dasha periods of these planets become turning points. Treat this entry as the axis story, not a literal same-house conjunction.

Important Note

The actual result of any conjunction depends on the sign it falls in, the house it occupies, the degrees between the two planets, aspects from other planets, the strength of the Lagna, and the running Mahadasha and Antardasha. The same Sun-Saturn yuti, for example, behaves very differently in Capricorn in the 10th house compared to Cancer in the 4th. Always read the full birth chart and Navamsa (D9) before drawing a final conclusion. This article is for educational purposes; for a personal reading, generate your kundali and study the full picture.
